Chiralpedia is a free educational resource on chirality and stereochemistry, covering chemistry, pharmaceutical science, analysis, regulation and materials. It is written for students, researchers and working scientists.
Nothing on this site is regulatory, clinical or legal advice. It is not a substitute for current regulatory guidance, pharmacopoeial texts, or your organisation's own validated procedures. Regulatory documents are revised; always work from the current version issued by the relevant authority.
We aim to be accurate and we correct errors openly, but we make no warranty that every page is free of error or fully current.
Every article carries a named author with a stated affiliation. Authors are identified on the article and on our contributor’s page.
Before publication, each article is read by a second named person with relevant subject knowledge, who checks the scientific claims and the reference list. The reviewer's name and the date of review appear on the article. Where an article falls outside our authors' areas of expertise, we seek an external reviewer and say so.
Every article shows when it was published, when it was last reviewed, and its version number. Substantive changes are dated and summarised at the foot of the article.
On sources: we cite primary literature, regulatory guidance and standards. Preprints are labelled as preprints. Case studies constructed for teaching are labelled as illustrative and are not presented as experimental results.
Chiralpedia uses AI tools to help draft and illustrate some articles. AI is a drafting aid here, never a source and never an author.
Every article is written or edited by a named human author who is accountable for its content. Before publication, a named person verifies each scientific claim against the literature and opens every cited source to confirm its authors, title, journal, year and DOI. Figures generated or assisted by AI are labelled as such in their captions.
AI tools are not used to decide what we recommend, to evaluate products or software listed on this site, or to write anything presented as the personal view or professional judgement of an author.
We correct errors openly rather than quietly. When we find or are told about a factual or citation error, we fix it, add a dated note at the foot of the article saying what changed, and list it below.
Typographical fixes that do not change meaning are made without a note. Anything affecting a scientific claim, a citation or an attribution is logged here.
To report an error, please contact us through the Chiralpedia Contact page, providing the article title and, where possible, the correct source. We welcome corrections and, where appropriate and with the contributor's consent, credit those who help us improve the accuracy of our content.

Chiralpedia is self-funded by its founder. It carries no advertising, no sponsored articles and no paid placements. Hosting and design costs are met by the founder. Contributors are unpaid volunteers.
Nobody pays to be listed on Chiralpedia, and we receive no commission, referral fee or affiliate income from any product, supplier or service shown on this site. We accept no payment for coverage of any product, company or method.
How we choose what to list
Our Products, Services and Chiral ToolBox pages list suppliers, tools and resources we judge useful to people working in chiral science. Selection is editorial judgement, not a scored rubric. We look for: direct relevance to chiral science; a product or service that is actually available to a reader rather than an announcement; and enough public information for a reader to evaluate it themselves.
Descriptions are drawn from the vendor's own materials unless stated otherwise. A listing is not an endorsement, and we have not independently tested most of what is shown. Where a Chiralpedia author or contributor is connected to a listed product, we say so on the listing itself.

Our authors work in industry, academia and consulting. We ask each author to declare any financial, employment or advisory relationship relevant to what they have written, and we publish that declaration under the byline of the article concerned.
Every article carries a disclosure line, including where there is nothing to declare. Where an author writes about software, instruments, methods or companies connected to their employer or their own commercial interests, that connection is stated. Authors do not review or evaluate their own products on this site.
Original text and figures on Chiralpedia are published under CC BY-SA 4.0. You may share and adapt them with attribution under the same licence.
This licence covers our own material only. Third-party images, figures, cartoons, trademarks and quoted material remain the property of their owners and are not licensed for reuse under CC BY-SA. Where we reproduce third-party material, we identify the owner in the caption.
